The new annual London family history fair turns out to be a big crowd pleaser with celebrities a plenty.

 

Ian Hislop cuts the ribbon opening the first genealogy show at Olympia.

 

This three day event over the May bank holiday weekend has given an injection of new blood into the market.

 

 

It was a busy three days at the show with big crowds on the Saturday which quickly sold out.

 

 

It was great to see so much interest in family history and to meet up with customers new and old.

Of course when our staff weren't serving they had a field day autograph hunting. Julie manages to capture Rolf Harris.

 

Mark gets to serve his childhood hero reminiscing about when he saw him sing "Stairway to heaven" aged 7. Rolf retorts "You'll have grown a bit since then."

It can be tough in the genealogy world when the competition brings out their big guns.

 

Julie does it again and captures another celeb ,Neil Oliver this time.

 

The show had a wide variety of societies and suppliers.
