The UK Census on CD-ROM

Census CDsOur census team have been working hard to expand the range of material available. We already have CD sets for London from 1841 to 1901 and soon Yorkshire and Lancashire will join these sets. We hope to finish all English and Welsh counties for the census years 1861 and 1871 within the year.

Our online data at TheGenealogist.co.uk now has databases covering most of the UK. Based on new servers we will be adding millions of records each month.

We have added the Crew lists database (CLIP) to the site which gives extra search facilities and will look for a person by one or all the following:

Name, Year of Birth and Birthplace.

Search for the occurence of a surname in the 1851 Census Extract and the number of results for each County will be displayed on the colour coded map. The map can then be printed for you to keep.

We also have a new site with Births, Marriages and Deaths Online Index at: www.BMDindex.co.uk

You can now search over 150 million events from 1865 onwards. The index now has images of the earlier index pages. The project adds more data every month.

Modern Surname Mapping

Find where the biggest concentration among the bmd records are for you Surname.

We have added a mapping feature to the BMD database. As with the UK 1851 Census Extract map (see above), the occurence of a particular surname will be displayed for each county as a colour coded map. A table showing the number of results for each county is also displayed.
